President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday met with the Northern Elders Forum which brought recommendations on how to improve security and ensure peaceful coexistence among its various components in the country.
After the recommendations were handed over to him, Jonathan promised to study it so that within a week or two, he would call them back to discuss the issues contained in the document and the way forward.
The meeting which held at the conference room of the First Lady was led by Alhaji Maitama Sule and Paul Unongo, and also had in attendance, Ango Abdullahi, General Ishaya Bamaiyi, Pauline Tallen, and Reverend Pam and Alhaji Shehu Malami, among others.
The meeting which started about 8.40pm rose about 10.05pm and Ango Abdullahi, had told the press that part of the recommendations was for the government to go back to panels set up to probe riots in the north whether religious or communal and bring those indicted to book among others.
